What We Offer
GPS-standard genealogy for Washington, Oregon & Idaho families
Research Packages
All packages include thorough source citation and written narrative. We'll discuss scope and tailor the work to your specific research questions before we begin.
A focused investigation into a single ancestor or specific research question. Ideal for breaking through a brick wall or verifying a family tradition.
Multi-generational research along a single family line, building from your earliest known ancestor forward — or tracing backward from a known individual.
A comprehensive, GPS-standard family history spanning multiple lines — the full treatment, from exhaustive research to a polished, publication-ready narrative document.
Pricing is project-based and determined after an initial conversation about scope. Contact us to discuss your research goals.
How It Works
We discuss your research questions, known information, and goals to define the project scope.
Exhaustive search of relevant records — primary sources first, with attention to all three source layers.
Evidence is weighed, conflicts documented, and proof arguments constructed where the evidence supports them.
A polished narrative report with full citations, findings summary, and PDF & Word files — ready to build on.
Common Questions
The Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) is the field's benchmark for sound conclusions. It requires an exhaustive search of relevant records, complete and accurate source citations, analysis of each piece of evidence, resolution of conflicting evidence, and a written conclusion supported by the evidence. In plain terms: you'll know exactly where every finding came from, and I'll be transparent about what the evidence proves vs. what it merely suggests.
Vital records (birth, marriage, death certificates), census schedules, land and probate records, military service and pension files, church records, passenger and immigration lists, city directories, newspapers, and more — depending on time period and place. For Pacific Northwest families, I have particular depth with Washington, Oregon, and Idaho state archives and county-level repositories.
Brick walls are real. When records simply don't survive or haven't been digitized, honest reporting means saying so — explaining what was searched, what survives, and what the realistic next steps might be. You'll never receive a fabricated answer or unsupported guess dressed up as a finding.
Yes, as a supplementary tool in the Comprehensive package. Genealogical DNA evidence is most powerful when integrated with documentary research — not used alone. I can help interpret matches and autosomal data in the context of what the paper trail shows.
Timelines vary with scope and record availability. A Starter Report typically takes 2–4 weeks; a Family Line project 4–8 weeks; a Full Family History project is scoped individually. I'll give you a realistic timeline estimate before work begins.
